"Hide It In Your Heart"

"Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you." (Psalm 119.11)

Purpose of Theme:

How often do you hear a quote from the bible but you don’t know where it is? Or how often have you heard a phrase that sounds like something from scripture, but you can’t find it anywhere…? Probably more often than we like to admit. 

We know God’s word is important. We say that all the time. We study it all the time when we’re together. It defines us as the people of God, but we don’t always do a good job of knowing where things are, or even being fresh on what it actually says. We’re all guilty of relying on technology to remind us of what God’s word says, but we need to be people who know what God’s book says because it is hidden in our hearts. 

And so, for our theme this year, we are challenging each other to “Hide it in your heart.” The goal of this theme is not just to emphasize how important God’s word is but to equip us with tools and habits to keep God’s word in front of us.
